Proposed Public Private Transportation Act (PPTA) Implementation Manual and Guidelines Available for Public Review and Comment

On September 30, 2010, the Commonwealth of Virginia released the draft Public-Private Transportation Act (PPTA) Implementation Manual and Guideline for a 30-day public review and comment period. The document provides guidance for project development and implementation processes for both solicited and unsolicited PPTA projects, and proactively identifies, assesses and delivers the Commonwealth's priority transportation projects in a consistent, transparent, timely and cost effective manner.

The Commonwealth invites the public to provide comments and suggestions on the draft document via e-mail to PPTAcomments@virginia.gov no later than October 29, 2010.  The Commonwealth ensures that a professional view of all inputs and contributions will be made in order to create the most effective and useful guidance that meets the Commonwealth's goals.

The draft PPTA Implementation Manual and Guidelines can be found on VDOT’s website at http://www.virginiadot.org/business/ppta-default.asp and the Secretary of Transportation’s website at http://www.transportation.virginia.gov/.
