Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Guidebook Approved by HRTPO Board

At its November 20, 2014 meeting, the HRTPO Board approved the Guide to the HRTPO TAP Project Selection Process. The Guide provides a compendium of information on the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) for both project applicants and interested citizens. TAP represents one of the primary sources of federal funding for active transportation projects including on-road and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities, recreational trails, safe routes to school projects, and other programs or projects defined as ‘transportation alternatives’.

The Guide includes a brief background of the program, description of eligible projects, schedule of how and when things are done during the TAP Project Selection Process, sample application forms, and current scoring criteria for evaluating project applications. The final document can be downloaded here: Guide to the HRTPO TAP Project Selection Process
