Regional Connectors Study in Final Phase; Seeking Public Input at January Pop Up Meetings in the Study Area

Map image of the Regional Connectors Study AreaDid you hear? The Regional Connectors Study (RCS) is now in Phase 3, its final phase. The region’s transportation planners continue to envision what transportation will look like when traveling between the Peninsula and Southside, through the Hampton Roads Harbor, in 2050!

The RCS Project Team is evaluating these crossings now. Planners are looking at congestion relief, economic vitality, resiliency, accessibility, and quality of life to come up with recommendations for segment tiering and further evaluation.

To aid in this evaluation, the project team is currently evaluating highway “segments” across the region to see how they might impact future travel. But what exactly is a segment? Segments are new roads or widening projects that could improve how we connect and cross the harbor to other cities!

This phase includes public feedback on proposed ways to increase connectivity and mobility in the region, and the project team needs your input.

Later this month, members of the project team will be out in the community at to share information about the Regional Connectors Study and gather feedback from you! Stop by one of the locations below and learn more about future proposed highway improvements for crossing between the Peninsula and Southside.
