The Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) describes transportation planning work to be performed for the Hampton Roads metropolitan planning area (MPA) by the HRTPO, Hampton Roads Transit (HRT), Williamsburg Area Transit Authority (WATA), and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT).  Each task in the UPWP includes information on who will perform the work, the schedule for completing the work, resulting end products, and proposed funding and source of funds.

HRTPO staff, in coordination with Hampton Roads Transit, Williamsburg Area Transit Authority, and VDOT, is in the process of developing the UPWP for fiscal year (FY) 2012.  Draft 1 of the FY 2012 UPWP, which has been made available for public review on the HRTPO website, should be considered a work in progress.  Draft 1 was made available for public review on January 26, 2011.  The deadline for public comments on Draft 1 is February 16, 2011.  Subsequent drafts of the FY 2012 UPWP will also be made available for public review.
