TIP Project of the Month: Richmond Road Multi-Use Trail

Each month, HRTPO staff will highlight a project that is currently being implemented within the Hampton Roads region.  This month the project is the Richmond Road Multi-Use Trail located in James City County.  It is a bicycle and pedestrian project which will provide a sidewalk and bike lane on Richmond Road (Route 60) from Croaker Road to Old Church Road.  Richmond Road is a highly traveled corridor and these additions will benefit those residents who choose to walk or bike.

The cost estimate for the project is approximately $3.5 million and to-date, $1.4 million has been expended on the project.  The Right-of-Way Phase is almost complete with construction scheduled to begin in February 2022 with an estimated completion date of June 2023.
