Bike Month 2016

Bike Month 2016

It is that time of year again.  May is National Bike Month!  Celebrate the fun and festive Bike Month events in Hampton Roads!

Newport News

Newport News Public Schools that are enrolled in the Safe Routes to School Program will be participating in National Bike Safety Week from May 2-6, 2016.  All participating schools will encourage students that live within one mile of their schools to bike to school on May 4, 2016.

Williamsburg

In May 2015, the City of Williamsburg created a full month’s worth of bike events to celebrate National Bike Month.  Fortunately for Hampton Roads, May 2016 looks to be a repeat!  The City has filled May with a variety of bike events including the New Kent County and Charles City County Rides on Mondays, Sunset Rides on Thursdays, and the highly anticipated Pedal the Parkway on Saturday, May 7, 2016.  For more information on the Williamsburg bike month events, please see:

Southside

The Tidewater Bicycle Association (TBA) and the Cities of Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, and Virginia Beach have collaborated to produce a Bike Month calendar.  The scheduled events include TBA’s Knott’s Island Century in Chesapeake, Chuckatuck Chainring Ride in Suffolk, Bike Month Food Truck Rodeo in Norfolk, and Ride with the Mayor in Portsmouth and Virginia Beach.  For more events and information regarding this Bike Month calendar, please see:
