The Census Bureau’s recent release of population estimates by city/county for 2014 indicates that Hampton Roads has grown over the past four years at a rate (0.6% per year) similar to that of the 1990’s and 2000’s.
Growth in the last four years has been spread across Hampton Roads, both Southside and Peninsula, as follows:
Having grown at 0.6%-0.7% annually since 1990, the HRTPO forecasts similar growth thru the year 2040.
