The Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization (HRTPO), the metropolitan planning organization (MPO) for the Hampton Roads metropolitan planning area, has completed the DRAFT Gloucester County Transportation Study Report.
This report was prepared by HRTPO to assist Gloucester County officials with their transportation planning efforts, including future updates to their 2016 Comprehensive Plan. A Comprehensive Plan is a policy document that provides direction for policy makers to guide growth and development by providing the long-range vision, goals, and strategies of their communities. Every Virginia locality is required by state law to have a Comprehensive Plan.
This report is broken down into separate sections for current and future conditions in Gloucester County. Roadway travel, safety, commuting patterns, public transportation, freight, bridges, active transportation facilities, air service, and resiliency are all examined in this report.
