HRTPO's Freight Transportation Advisory Committee (FTAC), an advisory committee to the HRTPO Board, will be hosting the Inaugural Virginia Freight Transportation Summit, a prequel to the 2011 Virginia Governors Transportation Conference.  The Summit, which will be held on December 6, 2011, is co-hosted by the Port of Virginia.

Speakers, including Representative John Mica (R-FL), Chairman of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, and Jeffrey Lacker, President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, will discuss topics focusing on the economic contributions of freight transportation and developing efficient distribution infrastructure systems.
